Dear friends!
Not everyone knows but Baran Records is an independent Ukrainian label created in 2010 by two music diggers from Ukraine Pavlo and Maxim. Initially started just for fun, after working on our own stuff we slowly expanded our catalogue releasing undiscovered soviet/post-soviet music artifacts, most of which originated from russia.
Even after the 2014 annexation of Crimea and russian invasion of Donbas we still signed on a handful of russian artists hoping that music is the universal language which connects like-minded people and manifests their peaceful coexistence on this planet.
But 24 February of 2022 was a final point of no return.
From now on, instead of music, creativity, arts and culture, all things russian will be remembered as war crimes and atrocities, blood, pain, rape, violence and murder of innocent Ukrainian people. There is no forgiveness for this.
Considering everything said above we decided to halt our label's operation for an indefinite period of time and to stop our sales after 30th of June 2022.
Right now we are performing some inventory cleanup:
- We are reducing the prices of our releases whenever possible and also putting some of our long-sold-out-ago releases for sale via website & bandcamp until 30th of June 2022.
- For multiple/bulk orders please write to baranrecords at gmail com. Currently it is not worth the effort with shopping cart implementation on our website.
- Be sure to check our website/bandcamp periodically. If something is sold out it doesn't mean that we won't re-stock it again soon. Inventory cleanup is an ongoing process and it may take some time to resupply.
- The profits will be donated to the official Ukrainian army and humanitarian support via National Bank of Ukraine special accounts.
- By the end of June 2022 the label will be temporarily closed and we will not accept/ship any further orders.
- We will not sign up or support any russian artists in the future if we resume our activity.
But don't worry, this is not the end. Out tiny underground label is not going anywhere. After the war is over we will figure out what our next steps will be since we still love music and there is plenty to be done.
